A Message from Chuck: Feasting on the Bread of Life
Have you ever sat down to a magnificent, five-course meal—the kind where the aromas fill the room and the table is set with care—only to take one tiny bite and walk away? We’d say that’s a tragedy, wouldn’t we? To be surrounded by such nourishment and yet remain hungry is a waste of a feast. And yet, friend, that is exactly how many of us treat the Word of God. We skim a verse, we listen to a snippet of a sermon, or we keep our Bibles on the shelf like a decorative centerpiece.
In this video, I want to invite you to the table with a hearty “Bon Appétit.” We aren’t talking about physical food today; we’re talking about the spiritual “meat” and “milk” that sustains the soul. The Bible isn’t a book to be tasted; it’s a book to be devoured. It’s meant to be chewed on, swallowed, and digested until it becomes part of our very fiber. We’ll explore:
- From Skimming to Savoring: Why “speed reading” the Bible often leaves us spiritually malnourished.
- The Process of Digestion: How meditation and reflection turn raw information into life-changing wisdom.
- A Healthy Appetite: Identifying the “junk food” of the world that ruins our hunger for the things of God.
Don’t settle for a snack when God has prepared a banquet. Let’s learn how to sit down, pick up our forks, and truly feast on the living Word of God.
