Mark 10:32–45
Selfish ambition has a way of surviving even our most spiritual moments. While the Savior predicted His suffering and death, two of His closest disciples lobbied for the best seats in His coming kingdom. Their ambition collided head-on with His mission.
Pastor Chuck Swindoll contrasts the Savior’s servant heart with the disciples’ self-promotion in Mark 10:32–45. Jesus declared that whoever wishes to be great must be a servant, and whoever wishes to be first must be a slave of all.
Trade ambition for submission. Tell the Lord today, “I exist to serve You,” and watch your whole reason for living transform!
