One of the great blessings of my involvement in an international broadcast ministry like Visión Para Vivir comes through reading countless e-mails and letters that pour in from listeners in the United States, Latin America, and Europe. A listener in Spain received hope and encouragement by listening to Chuck Swindoll's series on the book of Revelation. A young man in Panama witnessed to his cab driver when the program came on the radio. Another man in El Salvador came to faith in Christ while listening to the Spanish-language broadcast. From our ministry office in Texas, we at Visión Para Vivir have the privilege of reaching out to people around the world and offering encouragement, instruction, and the opportunity for salvation through Jesus Christ.
The passion we have to get the Spanish-language broadcast on the airwaves stems from our desire to follow Jesus's final command before He ascended into heaven: "You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth" (Acts 1:8 NIV). Powerful broadcasting antennas and a World Wide Web carry the message of God's love and grace to millions of people that our small team in Texas would never be able to meet face-to-face. We're grateful to God for providing the technology that carries His message to those who need it.
However, that doesn't mean we're content where we are. We're pursuing the goal of opening an office in Guatemala City, Guatemala, so that we can better serve those in the nearby countries of Central and South America. This goal would allow Visión Para Vivir to provide in-person pastoral training across the region and a greater availability of Spanish-language biblical counseling by phone. Will you pray for us? Pray that through these advances, God will allow us to make even more meaningful connections with our listeners, increasing the opportunities for God to transform hearts so that He might be glorified to the fullest.
