Metaphors make great teaching tools by transferring information into easy-to-understand pictures. No wonder Jesus used so many metaphors!
Jesus could have simply told His disciples, “Obey,” but he taught a rich lesson about God’s work in the disciples’ lives, their dependence upon the Lord, and the value of good works.
