A Message from Chuck: The Pacing of a Soul
Have you ever caught yourself “speed reading” through a chapter of the Bible, just so you could check it off your list and get on with the rest of your day? We’ve all been there. We live in a world that is addicted to speed. We want fast food, fast cars, and fast answers. But friend, the things of God simply don’t grow in a hurry. When we treat the Scriptures like a morning newspaper or a social media feed, we might get the “news,” but we miss the Life.
In this video, I want to give you a very simple, yet very difficult piece of advice: Don’t Read Too Quickly.
When we rush, we skim right over the very nuances that God wants to use to change our hearts. We look for information, but God is looking for transformation. To hear His voice, we have to slow down enough to listen. We’ll explore:
- The Problem of “Volume Over Value”: Why reading one verse deeply is far more profitable than skimming three chapters in a blur.
- Cultivating a Quiet Heart: How to create a “sanctuary of time” where you aren’t looking at your watch, but looking at the Word.
- Listening for the Whisper: Understanding that God often speaks in a “still, small voice” that is easily drowned out by the noise of our hurry.
You aren’t in a race to finish the Book; you’re in a relationship with the Author. Let’s learn how to take our time, breathe in the truth, and let the Word of God set the pace for our lives.
