It’s been said that the only guarantee in life is death and taxes. The Lord certainly never guaranteed us a long physical life or one free from pain or sorrow . . . or taxes. Furthermore, the pursuit of material abundance will always end in either failure or disappointment. Nevertheless, Jesus said that abundant life is available through Him—by His means and on His terms.
