Question 10: How has your daughter changed your lives?

Loading the player

Few things test our faith more than when our loved ones suffer. We question God, we question our faith, we question what we believe. Life can turn upside down in a second. Few people understand this more than Tim and Jamie Schultz.

Following God’s leading, Tim left a very financially secure position and entered full-time ministry. Shortly thereafter, Tim and Jamie’s lives were forever changed as God allowed their daughter, Anna, to be born with life-threatening conditions. Anna is alive today, but life for the Schultz family is never free from challenges.

Regardless of where your faith may be, this interview reveals that when we trust in a great God, He provides in ways we cannot imagine. Life is not without pain, but we can live fully and joyfully with pain if we put our trust and faith in the right place. This interview is life-changing.

Tim and Jamie Schultz chose to trust Christ—a decision that has offered hope in the midst of hopeless circumstances. Hopeless without a God bigger than their circumstances.

About Tim and Jamie Schultz

Tim and Jamie Schultz have been married since 2004. Tim has a background in science, and following graduate school he worked for a pharmaceutical company. Jamie completed graduate work and taught high school English for five years.

In 2011, Tim resigned from his lucrative career to follow God’s leading into full-time ministry. Along with that transition came the unexpected . . . a pregnancy with many extremely terrifying, potentially terminal diagnoses. Encouraged to end the pregnancy, Tim and Jamie moved forward, refusing to terminate the pregnancy. Anna was born with many complicated disabilities, yet is now 5 years old and continues to shock the “specialists” with her progress.

Tim and Jamie’s lives are drastically different than expected; enduring sorrow is combined with sovereign strength. Their greatest desire is to honor God and to extend comfort to those whose plans have come to a screeching halt.

Currently, Tim is a pastor and teacher in their local church. Jamie finds great fulfillment in her work at a Bible recording agency. They have three children, TJ (10), Lucas (8), and Anna (5), and happily reside near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They find incredible hope in this verse: “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10 ESV).
