Overview

Since 1979, Insight for Living Ministries (IFLM) has been committed to excellence in teaching the study and application of God’s Word. Pastor Chuck Swindoll and his wife, Cynthia, began the ministry by broadcasting Chuck’s Bible-teaching program, Insight for Living, on 18 stations. Today the program airs on over 2,000 stations, can be streamed through various online channels, and can be heard in 70 countries and eight languages.

We also produce quality Bible-study resources, have a dynamic online presence, provide pastoral counseling, and actively walk alongside listeners through life’s challenges. As a ministry, we’re committed to Vision 195, our strategic mission to pursue Jesus’ Great Commission by extending God’s grace and making disciples in all 195 countries and their 6,875 heart languages.

In addition to our international headquarters in Frisco, Texas, we currently have ministry offices in 10 countries, where our pastors translate resources, train church leaders to use Chuck’s Searching the Scriptures Bible-study methods, serve their communities, and pursue Vision 195 in their languages. Position Summary

The part-time accounts payable clerk promotes and supports the mission of IFLM by processing vendor payables and ministry deposits. This position processes invoices, facilitates electronic check deposits by verifying the coding and amounts are correct, and makes necessary edits for bank checking information and uploads. The clerk works closely with vendors, representing the ministry’s beliefs and values. Using 10-key by touch, the clerk accurately inputs information and account details. With a strong desire to support the mission of IFLM and Vision 195, the clerk thinks strategically, is detail-oriented, and is a self-starter. The clerk is a part-time position and will be overseen by and work closely with the director of Finance.

Core Job Functions and Skills

Accounts Payable (60%)

  • Processes invoices in a timely manner and coordinates approvals
  • Maintains key reports and reconciles key accounts
  • Distributes invoices received to appropriate departments for verifying, coding, and approvals
  • Ensures all invoices and recurring payables are entered into accounting system and paid when due
  • Confirms receipt of credit card statements from individual departments processing payment in a timely basis
  • Assembles checks for payment with proper documentation
  • Files documentation for check payment backup and creates new files when needed
  • Confirms all vendors have submitted W-9 forms

Radio Station Audit Assistance, A/P File, 1099 (15%)

  • Reviews payment files of all radio stations for current month
  • Uploads files into accounting system for payment
  • Processes checks for radio stations on timely basis
  • Edits and verifies 1099 information to process annually
  • Ensures all accounts payable files are kept in order

Check Verification (10%)

  • Verifies accuracy of each check submitted into accounting system
  • Confirms the payee on each check is accurate
  • Confirms all checks numbers are correct
  • Enters all check amounts
  • Creates report for daily deposit

Professional Development (5%)

  • Commits to the challenges of growth and development according to the professional development plan
  • Pursues the designated knowledge and/or experience with a positive attitude
  • Completes assigned tasks with excellence and in a timely manner

Team Member Contribution (10%)

  • Models IFLM’s core values through daily conduct

Position Specifications

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma; some college preferred
  • Ability to use 10-key by touch
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency in creating and using Excel spreadsheets
  • Experience with Great Plains accounting software a plus
  • Previous accounts payable experience a plus
  • High attention to details and organizational skills while multitasking
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Anticipates and prioritizes work with minimal direction
  • Friendly, humble, a high level of flexibility, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well with others
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

This is a part-time position—20 hours per week.
