Sunrise, Sunset

God has given mankind the ability to see beyond the present. And He has not given that ability to any other creation. He has given us eternity in our hearts, without which "man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end" (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

I have italicized "the end" for the sake of emphasis. Let me tell you why.

It doesn't take a lot of brains to realize that if there is a sunrise, there must also be a sunset. To borrow from the astronaut's word, if there is an "earthrise," there must also be an "earthset."

So let's take that one step further.

If there is an earth beginning, there must also be an earth ending. And if I'm existing on this boring earth without God, then I'm certainly not ready for an earth ending when I must face the One who made me.
