Position Summary

The vice president of Living Bridge Ministries oversees the media platforms and distribution of Insight for Living Ministries (IFLM), delivering innovative and creative content that engages the heart, compels the emotions, and strengthens the mind with the goal of encouraging deep, Christ-centered life change. With a strong desire to support the mission of IFLM and Vision 195, the vice president oversees and strategizes the ministry’s domestic broadcast initiatives, the creation of compelling video content that features IFLM’s work worldwide, website messaging and management, and social media outreach.

The vice president also collaborates with the executive team; provides strong leadership, project management, and coordination for direct reports; and assists with audio, video, web, and social media production. A strategic thinker and a hands-on leader, the vice president carefully considers how media fits within a connected digital world. He or she ensures the execution and delivery of content that engages the senses, drives internal motivation, and draws the ministry’s constituency closer to Jesus Christ.

Core Job Functions

Video Media and Production (25%)

  • Oversees the ideas, themes, and creative possibilities of IFLM’s video initiatives and production, providing thoughtful, engaging, and spiritually-rich content
  • Creates stories, visual scenarios, and illustrations that highlight IFLM’s mission, Vision 195, and spiritual disciplines
  • Develops strategies and action plans to procure detailed stories of God’s work through IFLM’s international field offices and pastors
  • Ensures the highest quality live streaming of Charles R. Swindoll’s weekly messages from Stonebriar Community Church
  • Captures and produces professional, high-grade DVDs of Charles R. Swindoll’s messages and other speaking engagements
  • Creates and produces high-grade web video content for Video Insights, Reframing Ministries, and various other purposes
  • Helps script engaging and compelling story lines
  • Oversees and participates in video shoots, including camera operation, lighting, staging, and location
  • Oversees and assists in post-production work, aligning content and messaging with the goals and scope of each project
  • Manages production schedules to ensure timely delivery of content
  • Ensures team utilizes high-grade equipment to deliver a “first-class” experience

Broadcast Media and Production (25%)

  • Partners with the president and chief executive officer in the creative development of the daily and weekend audio broadcast program
  • Develops broadcast schedules, ensuring cohesive organizational schedules across ministry platforms in conjunction with the president and chief executive officer
  • Leads the process for ensuring program editing meets excellence standards and technical requirements
  • Partners with external executive producer with respect to station relations and program distribution, messaging and scripting, on-air promos, and other media marketing initiatives
  • Coordinates and participates in the development of on-air strategy for fiscal and calendar year-end programming with executive producer and key ministry leadership
  • Manages the production of broadcast specials as needed, including Chuck Swindoll on-air interviews and chats, Ministry Events spots, financial updates, International Ministries features, and publisher interviews
  • Provides final review of broadcast scripts before delivery to program announcer
  • Serves as broadcast consultant to international field offices with respect to cultural needs, scripting, and other media-related issues and initiatives to ensure IFLM’s mission, vision, and goals are met

Web and Social Media Oversight (25%)

  • Oversees IFLM’s online presence and strategy, ensuring website messaging, design, and functionality yield a great end-user experience
  • Develops, proposes, and implements IFLM’s social media strategy
  • Unites website messaging and graphic illustrations with current broadcast series and other ministry pieces for consistent ministry presentation and communication flow
  • Promotes new initiatives that create website traffic consistent with IFLM’s mission, vision, ministry goals, and other marketing initiatives
  • Offers streamlined solutions to existing web platforms
  • Brings creativity and new ideas to all aspects of web and social media

Department Oversight (10%)

  • Works alongside staff, consistently providing “hands-on” leadership
  • Oversees video staff, ensuring all video content and products are “first-class”
  • Oversees web team, ensuring back end code, copy, and visual designs represent excellence and technical quality
  • Oversees broadcast staff, ensuring top-tier presentation and sound quality
  • Identifies audio, video, and web trends, challenges, and emerging issues and develops action plans in conjunction with executive team
  • Oversees department budget, including broadcasting, video, and web
  • Ensures all projects are completed in a timely fashion with outstanding quality and creativity

Professional Development (5%)

Position Specifications

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, or other relevant field (an advanced degree is preferred)
  • Minimum of ten or more years’ management experience with significant oversight of creative multimedia platforms furthering an organization’s mission, vision, and objectives
  • Track record of translating innovative, strategic thinking into executable plans of action related to multimedia creation, development, and distribution channels
  • Strong project management background
  • Demonstrated skill at influencing workers and senior leadership through strong relationship cultivation
  • Proven ability to infuse creativity within all areas of media while still being strong in technology and programming
  • Thorough understanding of the broadcast media industry, including radio and digital platforms, as well as web and social media platforms
  • Ability to personally perform audio and video functions as well as understand website intricacies
  • Ability to juggle several complex projects, multitask, and meet deadlines
  • Professional interpersonal skills with a high level of emotional intelligence
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • High attention to details with outstanding organizational skills
